About Concord

Concord, located in Cabarrus County, is ground zero for much of the NASCAR industry and Lowes Motor Speedway, which is a five billion dollar segment of the North Carolina economy. The city was founded in 1796 on a 26 acre site. When you look at Concord today and see the wonderful mixture of progress and heritage, the perfect blend of business, industrial, and residential life, you can see that Concord still embodies the meaning of its name – “harmony.” Today, Concord is located right off of I-85 and historic downtown Concord features a quaint main street with locally owned shops.  Another draw to the Concord area is a popular, new mega-shopping and entertainment destination, Concord Mills.

Homes in Concord, NC vary from new transitional styles in outlying subdivisions, to traditional colonials and bungalows in Historic Concord near the town’s main street, to rustic stone and Tudor style mansions in developments like The Enclave at Timber Ridge, Jacob’s Ridge, Christenbury Hall and Trinity Place.

Cabarrus County is also rapidly developing a reputation as one of North Carolina’s premier biotechnology centers.
