Bordered to the east by the Catawba River and Mountain Island Lake, and to the south by the major roadway of I-85, Mount Holly offers visitors the charm of a small southern town. The city of Mount Holly and the local community are committed to preserving the natural beauty of the Catawba River and Mountain Island Lake and its surrounding open spaces, while still making it accessible for recreational use. Farther out from the town center, new home subdivisons are plentiful, as well as smaller brick ranch homes with large land lots.
