Tega Cay

About Tega Cay

Located on a peninsula in Lake Wylie and just 20 miles south of Charlotte, the city of Tega Cay was once a small, gated community along the lakeshore. Now the city has grown significantly into a bustling area with more than 10,000 residents and is one of the fastest-growing cities in South Carolina.

The name Tega Cay is Polynesian for “Beautiful Peninsula.” As you make your way through the city, you’ll notice this tropical influence in the names of streets, like Palau, Palmyra, Windjammer etc. The 3-square-mile city has 13 miles of shoreline, hilly topography, and is densely wooded with hardwoods and tall pines. The city has become a safe, family-friendly lakefront community with endless educational, entertainment, and recreational opportunities for its residents.

Area attractions include a 27-hole golf course, Tega Cay Golf Club, and Mr. Putty’s Fun Park, a fun park with games, ropes courses and miniature golf course.

Because of the prime waterfront location, there is never a shortage of things to do in the Tega Cay community, especially when it comes to the outdoors. Between the walking trails, parks, and lakefront facilities residents are always able to find activities to enjoy.
